On July 30, 2007, International Brain Academy Surabaya (IBA Surabaya) held their first big concert to celebrate their 1st anniversary. At this special moment, IBA Surabaya would like to share their happiness by donating all the profits from the concert to Panti Asuhan Marganingsih and Seminari Menengah St. Vincentius A. Paulo.
IBA orchestra started the concert with a beautiful piece from Final Fantasy IX, Behind the door composed by Nobue Uematsu, followed by Panis Angelicus (Cesar Franck) with vocalist Samantha Pangkey. Sebastian Wilbert Basuki, a 10 years old boy, then continued the program with Kabalevsky Piano Concerto No.3 in D Major. The next programs, O Divine Redeemer and Granada, were sung by guest Tenor, Rubin Lukito. Nitya Primantari and Cosmas Sebastian Atmadja closed the 1st half of the concert with Chopin Piano Concerto in F minor and Totentanz by Franz Liszt respectively.
The 2nd half of the concert contained an interesting collaboration of two pianos, IBA orchestra, and ballet dances, performing the well-known composition by Camille Saint-Saëns, Le Carnaval des Animaux. The piece consists of 14 songs which describe various kinds of animals, starting with lion, hens and roosters, tortoises, elephant, kangoroos, swan, and so on. The pianos were performed by IBA youth pianists, accompanied by IBA orchestra and Elles School of Ballet.
